Li Ka Shing Library

The Li Ka Shing Library was officially opened on 24 February 2006 by Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and Hong Kong businessman Dr. Li Ka-Shing, whom the Library is named after. The Li Ka Shing Foundation donated an endowment for library collections.

The building has unique architectural features that let in abundant natural light. Greenery cascades down the library's modern, curvilinear facade.

SMU Libraries has more than 550,000 printed and electronic books, over 170 electronic databases, 340,000 streaming media and 25,000 SMU research publications.

Li Ka Shing library has a seating capacity of 1,800 spread over four floors.
